Para-cyclist Neil Fachie and his pilot Pete Mitchell won a silver medal for Great Briton in the men's tandem B 1000m cycling time trial
Neil, who is partially sighted, narrowly missed out on the 100m and 200m sprint finals at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. He then switched sport and joined the para-cycling team in 2009, riding in tandem with a sighted pilot. He is now a full time Lottery funded athlete based at the National Cycle Centre in Manchester.
Neil has been interested in sport since he took up running at just 10 years old and has broken multiple records. He was awarded with an MBE in 2013.
